Yzerfontein's flora
All-year-round, the unique fynbos can be seen flourishing in Yzerfontein; however in the spring (August to October), the village and its surrounds are smothered with an unbelievable variety of its stunning wild flowers; the dunes & veld in and around Yzerfontein are massed with brightly coloured indigenous flowers, such as:
- gazanias
- vygies
- cancer bush
- cineraries
- lachenalias
